The Carter Center is the $300M global human rights organization that Former U.S. President and Nobel Peace Prize winner Jimmy Carter founded to “wage peace, fight disease and build hope.” The Center works globally to eradicate disease, advance democracy and rule of law and end the stigma of mental illness. Our US partners BoardWalk has conducted a global search for Chief Executive Officer, reaching over 500 leaders on multiple continents.
The pool of candidates was diverse in geography, experience, race and ethnicity, age and gender. Each of the finalists had experience in multiple sectors spanning government, non-profit, corporate, academia and philanthropy. Paige Alexander, the current Executive Director of the European Cooperative for Rural Development (EUCORD) in Brussels and Amsterdam, was the appointed candidate.
