Working directly with Doug Suttles, Chief Executive Officer, and his executive team, we were awarded the search to replace their retiring EVP & General Counsel. Sourcing for this search included in-person and video pre-screening of candidates across Canada, the U.S., and overseas. We started this search with the executive team in September 2014, reaching short-list stage in November, 2014 with offer acceptance by year end.
The placed candidate, Joanne Alexander has held senior legal and business roles with several companies in the oil and gas industry, gaining exposure to oil and natural gas exploration and production business in North America, major oil sands development projects and international exploration activity. Before joining Precision, Ms. Alexander was Vice President and General Counsel for Western Oil Sands until it was acquired by Marathon Oil Corporation in 2007. Prior to her time with Western Oil Sands, Ms. Alexander has held senior positions in the areas of law, business development, regulatory affairs and land administration with ConocoPhillips Canada, Burlington Resources Canada, Gulf Canada and Gulf Indonesia. She began her career with Macleod Dixon LLP, a Calgary-based law Crm, including a posting to its Moscow ofCce. She has also lived and worked in the UK and the United States. She is a member of the Bar in Alberta and Colorado. Joanne remains in the role today.
